my passion for baby-wearing has led me to be involved with the sakura bloom sling diaries.
here we are in the mount tomah botanical gardens in springtime, wandering around with our handsome gardener boy & saying our sweet goodbyes to the blue mountains.
papa knew most the names of the flora and delighted in telling us all he knew of them. though i’ve been known to yawn during his passionate conversations about plants, i do whole-heartedly love that this is where his heart is, and someday alba might share that with him. it’s so important to be connected to our earth and to learn to grow our own food without poison or cruelty.
i hope these images inspires you to wear your babies close to you, where they belong.
i am wearing an organic maple sling. images taken by our gardener boy, mexico, as always.

This is so beautiful! Mother and child. Is pure love in this photos.
Thank you for making such a blog and allowing us to take a part to view your wonderful life. Its easy to be jealous of you, but i more appreciate the fact that there are people like you living such in such a pure, happy way. Alba is beautiful and many times do i read your blog to imagine my life as free as yours. You have much more courage than i do, leaving home at such an age to pursue what you believed to be the next step in fate. You view life as i do, i enjoy every simple gift, and it is refreshing to read another’s thoughts whose are close to mine. I would close with stay beautiful, but beauty can sometimes be taken artificially, so to you and your family, stay bright, lively and positive. The world is yours to enjoy. love, julia
I couldn’t say anything.. It’s GORGEOUS!
What i do not understood is in reality how you are not actually a lot more smartly-favored than you might be right now. You’re very intelligent. You recognize therefore significantly when it comes to this subject, produced me individually consider it from a lot of varied angles. Its like men and women aren’t involved until it
I could never use a pram or a stroller. Why would I want to push my baby away from me? Carry them close to your heart, how we are meant to
your blog make me relaxed
your photos are so beautiful it looks surreal <3
anyway, about baby wearing, traditionally, mothers in my country used to carry their baby with batik sling. my mother used to carry me like that. now they usually just use stroller. i personally thought it's better to carry a baby close to yourself

So beautiful it makes your hart melt a bit.
This is so beautiful, I like you filming.
I just found your blog through the sling diaries. Gorgeous photos! Breathtaking! What kind of camera was used for these pictures?
hi nirrimi, its wonderful that a young and loving spirit such as yourself has become such a nurturing mother. naturally. alongside babywearing, i know you and matt are also sharing a family bed with alba. i’d love if you could share a little of your story on this blog i’ve just started to celebrate positive co-sleeping/family bed stories, {altho i know you are busy writing your novel at present}. i think a piece of your story would go a long way to helping folks understand that sharing a bed with your children is a wonderful and natural way of life. this is the blog here http://cosleepingstorycollective.blogspot.com.au/ X peace love happiness, abigail
that last picture is so beautiful
when you are feeling down you just klick on your blog and get inspierd of life and wanting adventure and love
all luck too you:)
I am always inspired at how much peace and purity emanate from your photographs. It’s so nice to know that in spite of the many sad and unjust things that are happening in the world, there is also this- a delicious infusion of love, family, affection, nature. Thank you, as ever, for sharing your visual diaries. And I hope some day to read your nanowrimo endeavor.
Your photos are so inspiring to me. Even you’re so far away from Portugal, I can feel the peace and the love behind this blog…it’s amazing.
I think this is my first comment on your site but I have been an admirer of your work for a long time. These photos I find particularly beautiful you and baby Albas skin tones blend so organically together behind the flora and fauna. Mexico has done a wonderful job at capturing your new found motherhood, it reminds me so much of the emotions felt by my sister in her first phase with her baby boy
oh my, this is just so beautiful!
Absolutely stunning photographs . I love the one of Alba with a daisy in her hand . She is gorgeous . You are a beautiful family and a loving example to all who read your blog . The one of Alba feeding is just so cute too ! I wish my children weren’t all grown up …I want my babies back !
I whole heartedly agree that babys should be close to us x

this is the first time i write a comment, but i’ve been reading it for a while, i was just too shy to say something.
Beautiful, as always. The springtime light is so uplifting. Alba is getting so big! I love her smile so.
absolutely incredible
Realy beautiful…It emits noble light.
Incredible images. Just beautiful. Baby wearing is so, so wonderful to build an incredible life-long connection with you baby. I’m sure Alba just loves snuggling close. Anna x
There is so much beauty in these photos, they really are stunning- The plants, the neutral clothing, a beautiful natural mumma and her little girl. And Alba’s little white dress. I have just bought a SB sling last week, still trying to sort out how to wear it properly with my three month old Indiana, but I hope I can get someone to take some lovely images of us one day.
Rhi x
It is so nice to be able to carry and breastfeed at the same time, when we took our son overseas he was eight months old and was so adaptable to timezones and temperatures and I believe it’s because he could latch on anytime he wanted. You are gorgeous and Alba seems to be a very happy and sweet little girl xxx
your lovely self (and georgia) haave changed my perception on babies and parenting. although not a mama yet, I know that I have a more natural and positive outlook on the upbringing of my future babies. these photographs are just beautiful too. so perfectly captured <3
Beautiful pictures as always.

Wonderful pictures. My wife and son also have to endure listening to me talk about plants and trees when ever we go on a hike. Of course, many times I am wrong about my classifications. “Is it an elm or ash? Elm. No, definately an Ash.”
Truly a delight…adorable baby, beautiful spring weather, flowers and genuine love all around. Your post is like a warm hug for the mind & heart. Thank you for inspiring.
That picture of Alba holding the daisy is so lovely.
There is nothing more beautiful than a girl and a flower.
These moments are beautiful! Ever the inspired scene. I don’t want to farewell springtime at all. Thought i would mention something, though you probably know about it or have even done it before: Pick~your~own~berries~farms. More than berries, though. All kinds of fruit and veggies and the like – the photos in this post just sparked a thought of a similar shoot while picking blueberries and strawberries.. But whether it be for a shoot or just a day-trip I just wanted to put that idea out there.. just in case
Here is a handy website with farms in NSW.
